taint
so i don't want to try and act like i'm political at all, cause i don't know crap about politics. i'm not saying it's right, it's just the facts ma'm. anyhoo, i'm listening to NPR the other day, and they start in about how our gov't (here in the land of the free, haha) has decided that they are going to violate attorney-client privilege for those persons being questioned regarding sept. 11. um, what? excuse me? and this went into effect immediately folks, no debate, no discussion; it was approved on an emergency basis. i mean, i guess we should have seen something like this coming. S. did tell me that Ashcroft was a nazi.

however! while i think that is outrageous and all, what really freaked me out is that as a "procedural safeguard" they are going to pass all conversations through a special "council" of sorts to determine if anything divulged warrants investigation. this 'council,' as it were, is known as, ahem, the TAINT TEAM. i'm totally serious. i'm sorry, but isn't there anyone in the whole freaking gov't who knows that that MEANS? seriously, people! that is just WRONG! i mean, imagine some poor shmuck at a party, trying to chat up some cutie, and she asks him what he does for a living ... "uuuuhhhhmmm, i'm ... well, um, i'm a member of the um ahem 'taint team.'" my god, that is just sad.

and on that note, check this out.
