the "Man" bizarrely decided to give us tuesday off this week. i decided, of my own accord, that going to work today, monday, was a tad silly. so i decided to stay home and listen to my husband barf all day. it's been quite entertaining. he thinks he's got food poisoning, but i'm calling flu. grandma took the wee one for the afternoon so i also got to wrap her birthday presents. yes, hokey pokey elmo is among them. i'm not made of stone. i just can't believe she's a whole year old. she is amazingly willful and a big ole punk. she turns the tv off and on, turns over the cat's water dish and climbs on the brick fireplace over and over and over and over and over. apparently, in her tiny little baby brain, hearing the word "NO" never gets old. i've got news for her. this morning she tried to say "abominable". without much success, but she tried. so the cat in the hat ... didn't anyone else find that book kinda scary?
