well this better be one HELLUVA growth spurt, that's all i'm saying.

the kid better be six feet tall when she wakes up tomorrow.

just kidding, of course. it's not really that bad. she has just learned how to throw a really good kicking screaming fit. it's great fun. she freaked out so bad yesterday when i was trying to get her to take a nap that she was doing that whole hiccuping gasping breathing that you do when you're just crying your guts out. she was so tired she couldn't keep her eyes open, but would rather scream until her throat hurt than just lie down and rest. turd bucket.

in other news, i'm one year older today. thanks so much to all who have sent birthday wishes. they are much appreciated. for the second year running i have practically forgotten my own birthday was coming up bc i was thinking about magnolia's impending birth and now her first birthday. it's been nice not to be so centered on myself anymore. i was a pretty spoiled birthday brat before. i'm listening to one of my new birthday presents right now: terrior blues. i can't decide if i like it yet. but i'm always pretty lukewarm on albums the first few times through. so i'll give it a chance. i'm also wondering if i'm just cooling on the whole americana thing. but don't get too excited oh yea despisers of country-influenced music. my drift from americana is simply taking me closer to the bluegrass and rockabilly roots of it all. so there. and that's about the best ending i can come up with for this entry at the moment!
