damn you, proofrok! i had managed to keep from thinking about my dad for a few months until i read your entry. since giving birth to the wee one and becoming a parent myself, my feelings about my own parents have become so much more complicated. (and you thought that wasn't possible!) but esp towards my father ... and i would give just about anything if he had ever told me something like that. but he never did.
