geekbaby
man, i hope my kid grows up to be a geek like me. otherwise, she is gonna HATE her upbringing. case in point? she turned five weeks old on saturday, and to celebrate her parents took her to see lord of the rings. no, i'm not kidding. okay, it wasn't really to celebrate her birthday, it was really just cause we wanted to go and we are selfish parents. and we are now officially "those people that bring the baby to the movie." except that we are not "those people that bring the baby to the movie and insist on staying in the theater if the baby starts crying." we are more "those people who bring the baby to the movie with the understanding that the instant she makes the slightest noise we run out to the lobby until she falls asleep again." whew.

anyway, she slept the whole time. except when the olliphants came along and they were so loud they woke her up and made her squeek a little. even though i was holding her little hairy ears. (i did mention that my daughter has hair on the tips of her ears? oh yeah, when you're married to wolverine, you have to expect some genetic repurcussions.) but she passed right back out after that. i would have felt really bad except that the freaking punk asses behind me kicked the living shit out of my chair the whole freaking movie, regardless of all the go-to-hell looks we have them. so i didn't have a shred of guilt left for them.

but the moral of the story is that you must go see lord of the rings. now. go. what are you waiting for?

oh and to shabby and midgee dee ... you guys are sooo not missing anything in OK right now. it is pissing down rain and the temp is dropping rapidly. soak up some sun for us.
