i forgot to tell this story weeks ago, when it was pertinent. ah well.

there was a bad storm a few weeks ago that took a pretty good toll on ponca city, the old home town. i was up early, watching the news to see if any of my relatives had floated away. so the reporters decide to interview a 'local resident' of the town to get some 'local color.' i guess the only person out at 5am in a storm happened to be soaking wet and wearing no shoes. the two teeth she did have ... were snarled and crossed. they ask her about reports of an explosion at the refinery. (completely bogus reports, turns out.) her response?

"oh yeh, it was huge! first we hee-rd it, then we seen it!"
