or perhaps she has an intensly keen sense of timing.

last thursday, she busted out with her first tooth. yes, it took her nearly 10 whole months of life to get busy on the choppers.

well, apparently that milestone just whet her appetite for drama. because on friday she took her first steps. at not-quite-10-months old. crikey. she seemed as surprised as we were.

then about ten seconds after i was saying how great it was that she was so healthy and that she wasn't one of those kids who got runny noses, ear aches, fevers, etc all the time ... (idiot woman) ... she starts running a fever.

have you ever tried to hold a live fish in your hands? now try to hold that fish with one hand and insert a thermometer under its fin with the other hand ... and hold the whole ball of squirm still for 60 seconds. gah!

and let the record state that there is nothing more horrible than having to cause your child discomfort on purpose. i.e. when your baby already doesn't feel good and you make her sit in a tub full of cold water while she shivers and whimpers. it's a new fresh hell.
