ponca city is so freaky. we were there to visit the fam this weekend and jerm went downtown to check out local pawn shops. scanning for star wars paraphenalia, of course. anyway, no less than three individuals stopped him and asked him the very cliche question, 'you're not from around here, are you?' and not in a nice way. granted, he looks a bit odd ... the kid at the comic shop knew what he was going for. when jeremy walked in the door, the kid says, 'hey! wolverine!' yes correct. he has the spiked out hair and the chops. oh and the adamantium knives sticking out of his knucles. okay, not really. but there are plenty of much more freaky-looking folks around there. at least there were when i was in school. i mean, we had goths before being goth was ... something ... ? regardless, i thought it was pretty freaking rude of these people. i don't know why everyone is always talking about how friendly people are in oklahoma. cause i don't see it.
